The South African Backgammon Association (SABGA) was established in 2020, linking Cape Town Backgammon with players from the Johannesburg Backgammon Club and other non-affiliated players from other parts of the country. At present, SABGA runs an online Round Robin league open to South Africans around the world. This league has helped identify the strongest players, for the sake of putting together our WBIF Online Team. 

We are very pleased to have joined WBGF in late-2025, and have big plans for 2026 including more frequent and more lucrative live tournaments, plus the first BMAB event on the continent!
